I’m Karleena Mitchell
I grew up in Singapore, then lived in London and Auckland before settling in Melbourne in 1995. I graduated in Sculpture from the Monash Fine Arts Faculty (2002). My work is diverse with materials dictated by the subject matter, from bronze to cast glass to mixed media installations.
My work is in several private collections and has been featured in a number of exhibitions including): McClelland Sculpture Prize (2012-13), Australia’s most prestigious outdoor sculpture award; Lorne sculpture prize (2016) Sydney’s Sculpture by the Sea, the Tom Malone Award (Perth), the Wallace Award, New Zealand’s leading art prize; the Ranamok Award (three times), Australia’s leading glass art prize; and Melbourne’s Montalto Vineyard Sculpture Award (twice).
